JOSIAH GRAHAM
Region III
My name is Josiah Graham and I am currently in the Appliance Service Technology and Automotive Technology program at Los Medanos College. I am three semesters into my academic journey with EOPS. In spite of the hardships that I have experienced in life I have still managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA while accumulating 30 units.
Before I joined EOPS I had no idea how I was going to survive college without falling into debt or failing classes but because of EOPS and BOEP I have learned that showing up, taking notes, and attention to detail from people in positions that I would like to be in one day goes a long way. Joining EOPS and taking the help and advice they offer has gone a long way in building my self confidence in feeling that I can actually become a college graduate and be a productive member of society and achieve the goals I have for myself in life being that I am of African American decent and don’t have a lot of positive personal champions in my life.
This scholarship is a blessing because my family is currently experiencing some financial hardships. My grandma taught me how to stretch money so I can assure you that this money will be used wisely. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I will continue to strive in the classroom and reach my goals. EOPS cares about me and they surround me with other people who actually care.
